Monitor

Monitor the net frequency prior to the beginning of the net. If there is activity, advise the stations that the net is scheduled to begin shortly. If there is no activity announce about one minute before the net.

“All stations please standby for the Delaware County ARES Alternate Net.  If anyone needs to use this repeater, please call <your callsign> at this time.”.

Start the Net

“Calling all Delaware County ARES members.  The weekly Delaware County Amateur Radio Emergency Service Alternate Net is about to begin.  The weekly Delco ARES Alternate Net is about to begin.  The weekly Delco ARES Alternate Net is about to begin.”.

Preamble 

“This is <your callsign>, Net Control Station for the Delaware County ARES Alternate Net.”.

“This net meets every Monday evening after the analog Net for the purpose of testing our alternate equipment and repeaters.”.

Check Ins

At this point handle check ins to the Net.

“We will now call for check ins to the Net. We will start by calling on those that checked into the analog Net.  When called, please acknowledge and check in.”.

“<Your callsign> calling <Checked in callsign>.”.

If heard from, then:

”NCS acknowledges <callsign>, thanks for checking in.”.

Otherwise:
