N3KZ 442.000 MHz Repeater return to service in Delco
Hello,
Please see the note below from Bob Famiglio (K3RF). The N3KZ Repeater at 442.000 MHz is now back on the air again. We will be testing this during our first week of the month alternate net, after the standard net.
Please let Bob or myself know if you experience any issues or have signal reports for locations around the area on this repeater.
Channel Propagation report form (must be logged in): Channel Propagation - ARES of Delaware County - Confluence (delco.community)
This should be programmed into your go kit as "DE N3KZ WILMINGTON" on channel 99.
Thanks!
Please relay to the Delco ARES team that 442.000 MHz is now back on the air (Saturday afternoon). PL 131.8, as listed on our website at www.N3KZ.com. I think it is programmed in the standard channel line up for Delco ARES deployable gear. We are interested in signal reports in the area. It primarily serves Delco, Chesco and into northern Delaware at the Delco/Delaware line. It is only about 3 or 4 miles from the 446.775 repeater but about 400 feet off the ground. We had issues with it when we pulled it and in a shop for testing when time permitted. Its been a few months but works perfectly in the test lab for days at a time on test equipment. We want to see if it acts up when in service back on the tower site so we can make sure it is 100% reliable. It has 24/7 unlimited emergency power just like my W3KG repeaters and will be made ARES priority use if and when needed in a situation.

Weekly Delco ARES Net - Analog and Alternate/Digital
All Amateur Radio operators are encouraged to participate in the weekly Delaware County ARES-RACES Analog Net held each Monday evening at 19:30 hours local time on the W3KG repeater in Delaware County, except for the second Monday of the month which is our monthly meeting. The directed net is used a drill and emergency communications protocols are followed. Important announcements concerning operating activities and upcoming events are made during the net. ARES team members are encouraged to operate via emergency power during the weekly nets to test batteries and equipment. Hope to hear you there!
The weekly net affords all Amateur Radio operators an opportunity to practice using emergency communication techniques during the directed net and to test equipment on a regular basis. The net also provides a conduit to relay important operational information to team members.
Because the weekly net is employed as an emergency communication exercise, all personnel checking in should keep their comments brief and of a nature relating to Amateur Radio. It is not a chit-chat net.
When checking in, it is highly encouraged to utilize the ITU phonetic alphabet for clarity and practice for passing traffic.
