Today, the leaders of all the ARES groups in District 1 of Eastern PA got together to discuss what each group is currently doing. This included Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, each represented by their emergency coordinator and assistants.
Each county was asked to give a presentation on:
Your ARES served agency.
Number of ARES members.
Present your IC-205 including Primary and Backup Repeaters and Simplex Frequencies.…

Statewide a total of 160 operators participated. That's up from the 114 in the Spring.

The annual SET is scheduled for this weekend on Saturday, October 7th. Please read carefully, some more details and steps have been added to the drill. We have also added the option to participate in the drill from the ARES trailer at the 911 center, or feel free to stop by anytime between 9a and 11a.
All Delco ARES members are strongly encouraged to participate if at all possible. If you have a county issued Go Kit radio, you should make every effort to do so.…

Tropical Storm Ophelia will impact our region over the weekend. The forecast includes high winds and heavy rains. The potential for power outages and flooding is realistic.
Ensure your teams are prepared with go-kits ready, batteries charged, etc. Hopefully, this storm will be gentle with us but let’s be ready if it is more severe than anticipated.

EPA SIMULATED EMERGENCY TEST - The SET will be held in the EPA on Saturday, October 7. ARES units in approximately 25 of the EPA's 34 counties will participate in an exercise supporting the American Red Cross. The drill will simulate a widespread communications outage resulting from a CME event. ARES units will support Red Cross shelter operations by relaying critical email message traffic via Winlink.…
